A handsome photo of Ian sitting in the graduate student library, staring at the camera with head cocked and eyebrow raised; poking out of his ears are a pair of white iPod earbuds and his untamed red hair contrasts with his bright green jacket.

Software

Hand-coded by me using Coda on Mac OS X 10.6. Image-editing was done in Acorn.

Standards and Accessibility

This site is done up in valid HTML5 (cutting-edge!) and CSS3. Things should look hunky-dory if you’re using the latest version of a modern browser (Safari 4, Firefox 3.6, Chrome 4, &c.) — I can’t vouch for Internet Explorer, but you shouldn't be using that anyway.

My site is mostly accessible to disabled visitors — I’m working towards compliance with WCAG+Samurai for all pages except the Climbing page (there will be videos on that page for which I won’t include captioning and audio description; sorry).

Fonts

I’ve set the site in Chunk and Junction, two free OpenType fonts licensed for @font-face use. The Font-Squirrel font generator created alternative font files for Maximum Browser Support.

What’s Up with the Anchors?

I don't know; what’s up with your face?

Will You Make a Site for Me?

Sure, if the price is right. I’ve made sites for Tom Christiano, Richard Healey, Terry Horgan, Rachana Kamtekar, Dave Schmidtz, and the Freedom Center.
